Ann Coulter is desperately trying to make people get Democrats out of office, and she doesn’t care how that happens. According to an article on Little Freakout Nation, she said that people should vote for “any crap-ass Republican” during an appearance on Sean Hannity’s radio show.
Of course she would believe that any Republican, no matter how stupid, how out-of-touch, or how culturally and politically illiterate they are, should be in office. To her, anyone who even preaches conservatism has to be better than a Democrat. She specifically said, according to Talking Points Memo:
“We can’t just abandon the field right now, you have to vote Republican even if it’s for a crap-ass Republican. I would name them but I’m not going to.”
TPM also reported that she and Hannity ended up squabbling over who in the GOP should go, and called Speaker Boehner (R-OH) “a horrible speaker. She shot back with:
“He’s bad on amnesty but look, who cares — there are a lot of bad Republicans, there are no good Democrats. The country is in the balance. You have to vote Republican right now.”
Because racism, sexism, plutocracy and theocracy are what we need to bring the country back to what the Founding Fathers envisioned. Right. She was quite adamant on that point, despite the fact that many protections for minorities, for women, for the poor, and for the middle class have gotten badly eroded under Republican leadership, and despite the Supreme Court’s conservative majority is sending us headlong into a Christian theocracy full of violence, where guns and Christian dogma rule everybody. To someone who’s as nuts as Ann Coulter, that’s paradise.
One could say that, with the Republicans’ track record on all of the above, that we have to vote Democrat if we want anybody in office who’ll actually make the attempt to care about more people than the rich. We have to vote Democrat if we actually want a modicum of representation in Congress again.
Ann Coulter is truly a right-wing nutbag, and why conservatives who have a problem with her continue to give her air time is utterly baffling. At least Hannity recognizes that bad Republicans shouldn’t be in office either.
