Scrambling to defend Lauren Green’s embarrassing Fox News interview with religious scholar Reza Aslan, the Media Research Center’s Brent Bozell appeared on the network this Wednesday to double down on the original attack, slamming Aslan who is a Muslim for writing a book about Jesus.
Last Friday during the infamous interview, Aslan had to repeatedly defend his credentials as a religious scholar to Green. The Fox host shockingly suggested that Aslan didn’t have the moral authority to write about Jesus since he’s a Muslim.
Defending Green’s position, Bozell declared that she “had every right to ask him” if Aslan was biased in regards to his faith.
Apparently, Bozell thinks that someone who is of the Islamic faith is incapable of objective thought. “He should have said, first and foremost, said, ‘Yes, I am,’” Bozell proclaimed in regards to Aslan’s alleged bias. “To deny it shows the aloof arrogance of ‘How dare she ask that question.’”
Making the interview even more ridiculous, Bozell even suggested that Aslan is not a very good example of his faith. “If he is going to take the attitude, well, he’s just a scholar, he just happens to be Muslim, that he didn’t really care about the issue — he’s not a very good Muslim,” Bozell said.
In an interview earlier in the day, Aslan pointed out that Fox News has an “inherent anti-Muslim bias.” Brent Bozell has clearly solidified that charge.
