Just remember this the next time a conservative tells you that they “care” about American hostages being killed by ISIS.
While the civilized world is reacting to Kayla Mueller’s death with grief and shock, Conservatives are celebrating her death, and referring to her as a “Jew-hating, anti-Israel bitch,” in the words of one blogger.
Because Kayla was an aid worker who dared to help Palestinians.
Now, for normal people, this would be taken as a sign that ISIS doesn’t care who you are or what good you’ve done for Palestinians or Arabs of any kind. But for the Conservatives, who are far from normal, this justifies her murder. Blogger Debbie Schlussel wrote in a post that there are “No tears for the newly-departed Kayla Mueller, the ISIS hostage whose parents confirmed today that she is dead.”
She continued, adding that “I have no sympathy for any of these ‘American’ (in name only!) hostages of ISIS, and my attitude when I hear they’ve been snuffed out is, so sad, too bad.”
Helping people makes you Anti-American. Gotcha.
Other Conservative websites were just as understanding and empathetic. Shoebat.com’s Lee Kaplan, for instance, drafted this little hit piece on the recently departed 26-year-old:
(T)he press tries to paint Kayla as a selfless volunteer helping poor Arab refugees. She may have even helped some injured Arabs in refugee camps. But don’t be fooled where her sympathies laid; she was working to support the goals of Palestinian irredentist/terrorists and to interfere with the IDF on behalf of terrorist groups. As an ISM activist she was a tool for the worldwide jihad
Conservative-Headlines.com, meanwhile, asked their readers to “pause” before they mourned her, and suggested that it was her support for Palestine that ultimately got her killed:
People should be asking is why this young American girl was in Syria in the first place. The fact is that Kayla Mueller was a Cultural Marxist who talked about her ‘privilege.’
“Cultural Marxism?” People use that un-ironically? And they use it un-ironically to weakly justify the death of an American hostage and aid worker?
The Gateway Pundit, Jim Hoft, meanwhile, claimed that she was part of a “pro-terrorist group,” the International Solidarity Movement, and added that “Mueller protested the Jews.” He was joined by Breibart California editor and former one-time Illinois Congressional Candidate Joel Pollak, who tweeted that she was an “anti-Israeli activist:”
Other users echoed his sentiment, and mocked Mueller for being a liberal and daring to help someone other than Israelis:
So let me get this right, Conservatives: ISIS is your hero for killing an “anti-Israeli activist,” who was “anti-Israeli” because she helped the Palestinians who got mowed over by Israeli bulldozers?
Sometimes, there just aren’t words; even “hypocrite” doesn’t do the situation justice, and “ghoul” just isn’t strong enough. Big Brother would’ve killed to have followers like these, who are so loyal to the party line they’re willing to celebrate the death of an American Hostage because she went against it.
