Conservative radio host Mark Levin warned viewers of Fox News’ Hannity on Tuesday that unless they vote Republican in the upcoming mid-term elections, President Obama is likely to go “full Mussolini” with dictatorial edicts.
When asked by Hannity why the Republicans hadn’t run more against the President since many Democrats up for election are distancing themselves from him, Levin said that he didn’t understand why.
“It’s not just Obama,” Levin said, “This is quintessential statism, it’s a disaster, it’s an impossibility. Every one of these incumbent Democrats who are now pretending they don’t support Obama supported him over 90, 95 percent.”
Going on, he castigated them for supporting Obamacare and amnesty and what he called “massive deficit spending and debt.”
“Massive deficit spending” is a favorite talking point on the right and the facts be damned. Deficits have come down steadily since Obama has been in office and that is a fact. However, like Levin, the GOP knows that their followers will believe them as long as they keep saying it.
“My problem here is the Republicans are running a very quiet campaign,” Levin continued. “They’re not standing up for any principles, very little substance, this is an enormous opportunity to expand the Republican party, to build it, to create momentum for 2016 and they’re not doing it.”
He said that he thinks that while the Republicans will have a good day on November 4, he thinks that they could have had a better one, an opinion which Hannity agreed with.
Hannity then asked Levin what he saw coming after the election was over.
“I think with Obama it’s going to get worse,” Levin replied. “You’re going to see his full Mussolini coming out with his pen and his phone, these executive fiats that are utterly unconstitutional. He’s going to do everything he can in the last two years of his presidency to further screw up the country, whether it’s the border and amnesty, whether it’s the economy, whether it’s God knows what. He’s been a very divisive, very damaging, very counterproductive president.”
Because of all of this, Levin said it is necessary to “throw Harry Reid out of the Senate,” a feat that will need a miracle since Reid is not up for reelection this year.
