If you’re like us, when you think of America’s greatest diplomats, you come up with names like Thomas Jefferson, Madeline Albright, and Chuck Norris. Or at least that’s how ol’ Chuck must view himself because in a recent op-ed he penned, the 73-year-old aging martial arts actor dispensed some advice to our actual Commander In Chief, President Barack Obama. As we all know, if you ever want advice on how to handle nuanced international negotiations that involve weapons of mass destruction, it’s Walker Texas Ranger you want to go to for counsel and advice, right?
In his op-ed, which appeared on the notoriously unhinged and reality-depraved World Net Daily, Norris argued that “As a six-time world karate champion,” he knows “something about fighting, winning and losing.” Wow. What solid reasoning for why we should listen to you, Chuck! At first, Norris’ piece looked like it was actually going to argue against military action and instead work on some kind of alternative, “Proof of the president’s shortsightedness is his naive strategy of a ‘limited’ military campaign in Syria.” You read that and you think, “Wow, a NeoCon who sees the folly of lobbing missiles into an already crazy civil war. But then you read the rest of Norris’ screed, and you quickly realize he’s not against Obama’s idea of a limited strike for peaceful reasons, he’s against a limited strike only because it’s limited.
That’s right, Chuck Norris’ great foreign policy advice for President Obama? All out war, with no options left on that table. Because nothing says “stopping the thousands of innocent deaths” like bombing a country into the next century, right? This kind of bomb first, ask questions later approach never came back to bite us in the backside before, right Chucky? With the Syrians agreeing to Russia’s proposal to hand over their chemical weapons, maybe Chuck’s advice is more irrelevant than ever, but just in case you need an extra laugh, here’s a video from last year’s presidential election in which Chuck and his wife warn us against the creeping socialism that Obama represents.
Don’t you think the brilliant mind behind this ad belongs in Obama’s cabinet?
If you missed it, here’s Chuck’s (who is a SIX-time world karate champion — in case you forgot!) dire warning from last year:
