According to a recently released report from Fort Lee, New Jersey EMS, the treatment of a 91-year-old woman was delayed because paramedics could not get to her. The report goes on to say the delay was “due to traffic gridlock caused by unannounced closures of access lanes to the George Washington Bridge, according to the head of the borough’s EMS department.”
Gridlock on the George Washington Bridge was caused by a political payback scheme set up by Christie’s staff and Christie’s appointees to exact revenge for local Mayor Mark Sokolich’s (D) refusal to endorse Christie (R) in this past November’s gubernatorial race.
Delays in traffic also caused first responders difficulties in getting to a man experiencing chest pain and as well a family of four who were injured in a car accident. Children were late for school throughout the borough, held up in traffic jams caused by traffic being narrowed to a single toll booth on the bridge.
