In a sane world, after Speaker Boehner bluntly dismissed calls for Obama’s impeachment, and the House Judiciary Committee admitted they have nothing to impeach the President over, that would be the end of the issue.
While speaking at the Western Conservative Summit, Palin attempted to revive her case for Obama’s impeachment, pulling out all of the stops and unleashing every fallacy and failed metaphor she could possibly muster in a perfectly choreographed illustration of just how detached she is, and what extremes she’s willing to plumb to prove it:
And on impeachment. Let’s talk more about impeachment, because it’s got them nervous, and let’s be clear they know who even, high crimes and misdemeanors it does not mean today’s ordinary criminal charges. The framers used the term to mean a dereliction of duty.
Oh yes, please, by all means, let’s talk about this again.
I’m hearing some argue for ‘cautious inaction.’ They’re terming it. They’re saying ‘Well Obama’s policies expose his failures anyway, so why rock the boat.’ But that argument, it misses the point. Folks he is radically changing the balance of power. It’s setting a wicked dangerous precedent. With his pen and his phone, hes abrogating his presidential authority. Making himself a ruler not a President.
Hang on. If he’s abrogating his presidential authority, that means he’s repealing it. If he’s formally abolishing his presidential authority, just what on God’s Green Earth is the man using to become a dictator? Him exercising too much authority is the exact opposite of abrogating it.
Sarah, for Christ’s sake, use a dictionary.
This president’s forgotten man is we the people, and we the people know that our best days are still ahead because we know that God shed his grace. He’s given us our freedom to do what’s right. God doesn’t drive parked cars. I think he expects us to get up and take action in order to defend these freedoms that are God given. I think it’s an affront to God to let this go on because he gave us these freedoms. We’re not going to let someone, a person, a party take them from us. We’re not going to dethrone God and substitute him with someone who wants to play God.
God does not drive parked cars, she assures us, and that’s probably because you can’t drive a parked car, Sarah. That’s a catastrophic metaphor failure. Just who writes this woman’s speeches, anyway?
Imagine the type of God that needs a tool like Palin to speak on his behalf. That’s a pathetic god. In total fairness to this god, however, the rest of his henchmen aren’t any more competent. One is left to assume (or hope, one stupid god is enough) this is the same god that told Michelle Bachmann to run for president. That told the Republicans to invade Iraq, and now is telling Sarah Palin to impeach Obama.
It should also be pointed out that the only person with a more dismal track record than this God is Bill Kristol.
