Christian Pastor Calls For Atheists And Gays To Be Put To Death

Blogger, author, troop-hater, and rape apologist, and all-around good guy “Reverend” Michael Crook feels there is a rape problem in America. The problem? The problem is that we think it exists. Oh, and atheists and gays should die.

Crook may be remembered for his website that demonized the troops for their choice to fight for their country, claiming that they are overpaid for their work (among a number of other awful things). Shortly following, he posed as an eighteen year old girl on Craigslist and, after learning prospective men’s personal information, proceeded to harass them–even posting their information on a web site dedicated to shaming men who sought sex on Craigslist.

After being thoroughly embarrassed by Sean Hannity of all people, Crook waged war on bloggers who posted screenshots of what must have been an overwhelmingly embarrassing experience for him–filing false DMCA complaints in an effort to take down anyone who spoke in any way ill of him. As part of a lawsuit settlement, Crook issued a public apology for his harassment.

Crook, who has referred to rape as “surprise sex,” said of the Steubenville rape victim, “She wore clothing that could, in my opinion, be reasonably perceived by those in her age bracket as inviting sexual contact, and by others as just plain “slutty,” which is an element that conveniently seems to exist in many accusations of “rape.” After her assailants received a slap on the wrist for their actions, Crook lamented that two young men’s lives are ruined.

It was once reported on his now-defunct blog that he had died, but rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated.

But what is he doing now?

Crook is still around, maintaining a Twitter feed with a whopping roughly-150 followers in which he spews his hatred–and if this is the first time you’ve heard of him, you’re going to be amazed that one human body can contain this much malice for humankind!

Crook covers a wide variety of topics in his veritable barrage of bigoted ramblings: from how rape isn’t real, to how atheists are worse than child molesters. Please enjoy (read: try not to vomit while looking at) what is quite possibly the most high-speed spewing of hateful garbage on the internet!

About John Prager

John Prager
John Prager is an unfortunate Liberal soul who lives uncomfortably in the middle of a Conservative hellscape and likes to refer to himself as an "island of reason in a sea of insanity." While he is not a fan of politicians, period, he has developed a deep-seated hatred for the bigotry, fear mongering, and lies of the Right Wing. John also works as a warden at one of Barry Soetoro's FEMA re-education camps and as a HAARP weather control coordinator. He can be reached at [email protected] if you have any questions or comments.

Looking at and listening to Michael Crook, I doubt he’s serious about what he’s saying. As much as I detest the blow-hard Hannity, I agree with him that Crook is wasting our time. I would bet it will turn out that Crook’s vehement anti-gay rhetoric will be shown to come from a self-hating gay man. I think he’s merely trying to harness and focus his free-floating self-loathing into being another Ann Coulter, someone who makes a (very) decent living from being outrageous and having shills like Hannity air their views. What this man needs more than anything is pity and a good therapist. And probably he needs the love of a good man too.

Religion loves to hate! I can’t take any religion seriously…too corny…too silly! Religion is an insult to the intelligence of the human race! I feel almost sorry for religious folk! No rational sensibility whatsoever! Just weird silly ass beliefs that make no sense to the rational free thinking minds that ate atheists!

    • https://www.facebook.com/alfred.lehmberg Alfred Lehmberg

I don’t feel remotely sorry for them. I fear and loath them. These deny you due process, fair treatment, and even a living when you don’t buy into or validate their personal faith. They gloat and take pleasure in their ability to coerce and manipulate in the service of their faith. They do not reciprocate the respect extended to them as regards their faith. They do not accept that their prejudice to me is no different that me demanding they give up _their_ faith. Them demanding that I personally accept _their_ faith is acceptable. I can’t abide their toxic hypocrisy in this matter. I rear their activity and loath their industry.

    • Chris

I hope you understand that religion has not been disproven. It can’t be disproven either. I could care less if your an atheist. Your entitled to your beliefs, and so are we. You can be atheist without being a dickhole about it.

  • Kelly

An appropriate last name as he is robbing his follows of the core tenants of Christianity, namely compassion and love.

  • Simone Sanner

He’s an unwitting Poe. The more asshats out there like this guy, the fewer people will admit in public they’re Christian, much less push a fundie political agenda. Who wants to be caught standing next to this guy?

Never heard of anyone being banned from HuffPo. Congratulations? lol

Are you a Christian and taking God’s name in vain? Are you a Christian that is committing blaspheming? Many of the Christians are! The third of the Ten Commandments is that you will not misuse the name of the Lord our God. The King James Version says, “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain”. What does that mean? Does it not mean you will not use God’s name when you are committing sins against God? Does it not mean you will not speak for God by saying God did this because…, God caused the hurricane because man was evil; God did this because you were evil; God did this because America did this; or God did this because you….! Have republican Christians not heard of the Devil, the Destroyer, and the Deceiver? The republican Christian Right has seemed to believe they are the ones that speak for God. The conservatives are quick to place blame in God’s name and they tell us what God is saying. Funny thing, I hear God saying something total opposite than what the republicans are claiming God says. When I read the Bible or pray to God, I hear to love and serve by being the shining light of His gossip; not force what I hear from God on other’s free will that will cause the redemptive opportunity to be lost.
I hear God speaking to me through Deuteronomy 10:12 to respect God; to live in God’s ways; to love our God; to serve God wholeheartedly; and to obey God. I hear God speaking to me in Micah 6:8 to be just to all; to love mercy for all; and to walk humbly with God. I hear God telling me to love, to have compassion, to care, and to serve the poor, the needy and the helpless 236 times in His Word, the Bible. I hear God telling me in Proverbs 14:31 that if I oppress the poor that I will have contempt towards God and that in Proverbs 31:8-9 to defend the rights of the poor and needy; yet the republicans take food from the hungry poor children. I hear Jesus telling me three times in Matthew 19: 23-24, Mark 10:24-25 and Luke 18:24-25 that the rich are as likely to enter Heaven as it is to put a camel through the eye of a needle; but yet the republicans defend the wealthy and capitalism. I hear God telling me in Romans 13: 1-7 to submit myself to governing authorities that He established, to not rebel against those authorities; and to pay my taxes to those governing that He established; but yet I see the tea party, the republicans and the conservatives not summiting to the government with a tenacious rebellion fighting taxes on the rich and any form of government. I hear God telling me over 500 times in the Bible to love.
You tell me if you really think being a republican is what God is telling you, because God is telling me republicans are committing blaspheme and taking our God’s name in vain. Tell me if the hate, the slander, the racism, the rebellion against the government, and the fundamentalism of the republicans is what God wants for His children. Jesus showed us what He thought about the Pharisees and the republicans are today’s Pharisees!

Jesus-fucking-Christ… Shut the fuck up, goddammit! Enough with the ‘magical boogieman in space’ bullshit. Believe whatever you want…just keep it to yourself and between your like-minded dingbats. With every year, organized religion weakens… blame science, progress, enlightenment and the mad quest for knowledge, you silly, ignorant goofballs. Some day in the future, you freaks will need to pull a Brigham Young and find a tiny, remote corner if the planet – or better still – another planet…to gather your demented flocks and spoon-fed the last of them all your made-up bullshit. God bless, all you dopey goofballs!

Larry : Please let me know when you will be stoning those Republican Pharisees.
Will you be starting in Wash D.C. or at the local level ?
Will you be using natural stones, or those half-sized bricks that look so elegant on modern fireplaces?

      - Since you have obviously replaced the angel Gabriel as the one who receives “the word” , it is now your obligation to correct those wrongs.

      - I have never watched a real appointed messenger of God perform that kind of ceremony and would love to get some newsworthy photos of the event for my local paper. Please let me know a few days in advance so I can make the appropriate travel arrangements.

I cackled so loud I scared the cat when I read, “Please let me know when you will be stoning those Republican Pharisees.”

This guy definitely seems to put the “Crook” in Crook.

  • Floyd Taylor

Yup. Sounds like a Christian to me.

  • Scott Delaney

Crook is a fraud, the whole “reverend” routine is just another phony online persona he’s adopted. ive it six months until he gets bored and renounces it all, like he always does.

    • http://www.facebook.com/evilliberalagenda John Prager

He is actually ordained through an internet church.

      • http://gravatar.com/latenightlarry latenightlarry

Which means he’s not really ordained at all… He’s taken no formal classes in religion, nor learned anything about actually being a man of the cloth…

  • Infidel1000

This moron’s 15 minutes have expired. I passed on the Hannity clip, as I can’t stand to listen to him for 61/2 seconds, much less minutes.

  • https://www.facebook.com/brian.gallentine Brian Gallentine

Also sadly, the hard fact is that this hate can NOT be fought/ won with more hate. It pains me no small amount to concede that my beliefs (if I’m to be consistent and true to what I say I believe), command that I love this man as a brother. It’s easier when I remind myself that the problem is truly between his ears.

    • https://plus.google.com/111756300645310549175 Jesus F Christ

      @Brian G.

One of the more ridiculous notions in the bible is this ‘love thy neighbor’ business. Love is an emotion conceived when we actually have feelings of tenderness and closeness with another. It’s not something that can be turned on and off at will. If it can be turned on at will, it’s not love but simply something you’re forcing yourself to do to fulfill some passage in a religious book. It’s just pretending that you have this emotion to cover your own butt. Do you really have feelings of tenderness for this clown? Feelings that you cannot possibly turn off or put out of your mind? Feelings like you would have for your wife or child? If not, you no more love him than you love the dog turd stinking in your neighbors yard. It’s simply lip service to attempt to please some god so he doesn’t burn you in a hell. It’s essentially faux love by extortion.

      • https://www.facebook.com/adriaan.devries1 Adriaan de Vries

@jesus f christ. how do you define love? love is the acceptance of the loved with NO judgement of anything, I repeat ANYTHING about that object, subject human being. Now absorb that and go and re-do your rant.

  • Kevan Scott

It would be really nice if the true Christians, you know those who really believe in Yeshua the brown skinned Palestinia Juew who preached love, tolerence, and said that if you hate it is the same as murder, would publically rebuff this hater of apparently everyone and everthing that doesn’t believe as he does. . Are you listening Faithful America? Christians? Hanady? Anyone?

  • Gray Hunter

    “I”…. “I”…. “I’…. “I”…..
too many “I’s”…. and the archaic English forms…. too funny. I suppose he thinks it adds weight to his utterances. I wonder if he knows what “hubris” means?

Sorry, that should read: wouldn’t surprise most of u.

Someone should tell him that poor people already use the ER for health care, because they can’t afford any otherwise. I’m sure his next tweet would call for hospitals to refuse care to all who can’t pay at the door.

this man is pure evil. bigoted against atheists. well guess what? i am not gay but i am atheist and crook’s words make me wish he was in jail where he can do no harm.

  • Chance

The fact that that guy’s last name is “Crook” is just too appropriate. I’ve seen something about him before and went and looked at his Twitter feed. He’s a troll for negative attention, much like a teenager who acts up in class and says inappropriate things even if it gets him/her into trouble. The guy isn’t serious or at least isn’t any real serious threat to anyone, and if anything, all he’s doing is proving to believers how their beliefs can easily be used to fuel hate. It is unfortunate that there are people like this in the world, and I wouldn’t be perturbed in the slightest if he and his ilk suddenly vanished. As I see it, though, they are like the last kicks and groans of an animal that knows it’s dying. Society progresses ever onward and they know they’re being left behind. They will eventually die off to be replaced by more and more progressive young people. It is the way society has been inevitably liberalizing.

  • https://www.facebook.com/doug.myerscough Doug Myerscough

This guy is very lucky liberals and moderates aren’t violent people. He’d be dead.

  • KurtB

John, the site is ‘Americans Against The Tea Party’. What does the delusional ranting of one supposedly ‘Christian minister’ have to do with the main issue of smaller government advanced by the Tea Party?
I could post the ranting of a wacky Wahabist or Hasid, but they would not be representative of the larger group.
Hell, if I wanted to undermine the AATTP I could claim to be a supporter and post outrageous ideas on line.
Every movement has their lunatic fringe.

  • D. King

How very “Christian” of him. And how very sad.

  • Joe Bivens

John…I know your heart is in the right place, but, really…this? Michael Crook is an anonymous “blogger”. From a quick check of Google, no one has ever met him. He’s winding us up with this shit. Come on.

    • http://www.facebook.com/evilliberalagenda John Prager

Actually, he’s been on FOX News.
This is regarding his whole “hate the troops” thing.
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNaZ1xXFdGY

      • Joe Bivens

So now Hannity is our friend? Crook is a troll. He winds everyone up. Please.

        • Joe Bivens

He’s on a part with the Westboro Baptist Church. Trolls, all of them. They have people on the left and the right wound up.

        • Bruce Wayne

Sean Hannity is overall actually a fair and level headed guy. He catches a lot of shit because he’s on fox, but he’s honestly not that bad.

I don’t agree with most of what he says, but he isn’t an asshole, a scumbag or an insincere douche like most of these talking heads on any given news station.

      • Juliet

Overprivileged jerk. He sounds like a petulant little boy spouting off the first hateful thing that comes into what passes for his mind.

    • W

Joe…I know your heart is in the right place, but, really…this? Looks like your “quick check of Google” was so quick you missed that he’s been ON TV, so it’s safe to say people have met him. He’s a disturbed man so wrapped up in his ideals of a fantasy perfect world that anybody or anything that would challenge his “perfect” world are abhorrent and should die, in his eyes.

      • Joe Bivens

Yeah, he’s been on TV. What church ordained him? He’s a troll. There are far more dangerous people to deal with, like Cruz and Walker and Ryan and Santorum and Boehner and the list goes on and on. But, on the other hand, these fringe troll wackos are actually our friends, for as long as their out there doing their thing, they do at least two things for us: They drive people away from the lunatic fringe of the right, and they help our side get out the vote. And they make us laugh. So, carry on, I guess.

        • Floyd Taylor

The church of “send us $25 and you can be a reverend” website.

LOL…you almost have to wonder if this guy’s Twitter account is an example of Poe’s Law in action.

    • http://www.facebook.com/evilliberalagenda John Prager

Sadly, no. He’s real. It’s real. He really believes this garbage. When it was suggested that I look into this, I thought that initially. Boy, was I wrong!

      • http://gravatar.com/beatrixkiddo27 beatrixkiddo27

That’s the thing though. He doesn’t actually believe almost anything he is saying. I’ve been following him for a few years now, and when I say ‘follow,’ I simply mean reading about and scrolling his defunct blog and multiple twitter feeds. I’m almost positive he doesn’t even know what he believes any more. He says things, the most vile things, because he is trying to cash in on hot topics. He’s trying to drive traffic. One of his “moneymakers” back in the day would be to set up these horrifyingly awful sites dedicated to horrible hate language and victim blaming and all sorts of terrible-ness – just to drive traffic and when he established some traffic numbers, he would pull the plug and try to sell off the domains because he had established them as traffic drivers. I’ve watched him publicly shame people, then be remorseful and accept the same people and throw himself in the same lot for good measure. Then he’ll just go back to tearing them down again. It seriously is a cycle. And all he is trying to do is earn himself some money by selling off his name and writing books and driving website traffic. He is no Christian. Trust me. I don’t care what he says. He has no idea of what any belief system means to any one person, let alone himself. He would sell his own mother if it meant he could cash in on it at some future point. He’s a horrible person. And much of his ramblings are contrived in his mind in an effort to strike a cord with someone unsuspecting. I’d love nothing more than to see him disappear. Just for the sake of people who can’t see through his trolliness, and take him so seriously they almost have a heart-attack.
