Cee Lo Green apologized before ultimately deleting his Twitter after a number of disgusting tweets about rape. Recently, the singer pleaded no contest to slipping ecstasy into a woman’s drink in 2012 — but argues that he didn’t really rape her.
“People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”
The woman says she woke up and had no memory of the time between dinner at a sushi restaurant and waking up naked in Green’s bed. Green, however, argues that the two had “consensual relations,” and no rape charges were filed due to lack of evidence. Green was sentenced to probation and 45 days community service for one felony count of supplying ecstasy.
He shared his views on rape with his 2 million followers:
After facing criticism for his disgusting assertion that if someone is unconscious, it’s an automatic “yes” Green “apologized” for the tweets before ultimately deleting his Twitter account. According to Green, his comments were taken “out of context.”
“Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”
We have two words for Green. He should know them well, because the song made him millions: “F*ck You.”
