Alaskans have referred to the nation’s highest peak as “Denali,” for generations, long after the federal government renamed it after President William McKinley in 1917.
This week, the White House announced that the mountain’s original name will be restored, in a move that was championed by the state’s two Republican senators with the support of the Alaskan governor.
But according to right wing Christian blowhard Bryan Fischer, the real reason for the change was that President McKinley was a white Republican American – something Obama can’t stand.
“Why would Obama do this?,” he asked on his radio program today. “Well, there’s a very simple reason: President McKinley was a Republican and he was American and he was white. So he was all the things that President Obama has such a visceral distaste for.”
