Well, folks, it’s been a tough battle, but the justice system has failed Michael Brown. The teen, who was gunned down in the street by Officer Darren Wilson, is surely turning over in his grave because of today’s events.
Wilson and his Klannish supporters have attempted to spin the story to his benefit and, unfortunately, it has worked. The mostly-white Grand Jury shanded down their decision that their fellow Caucasian Darren Wilson was somehow innocent of murdering the teen.
In preparation for the announcement, almost as if he knew what the result would be in advance, Governor Jay Nixon declared a State of Emergency in an effort to quell any “violence” that may erupt — though past violence, by his own admission, was perpetrated by outsides who were using the situation for their own benefit.
Demonstrations surrounding the murder have resulted in hundreds of arrests and numerous attacks on protesters at the hands of police, yet the police and government officials have worked tirelessly to demonize the young man who was robbed of his life by an officer who was a.) terminated from a past position because his former employer, the Jennings, Missouri Police Department, was found to be so corrupt — so filled with racism and hatred — that it could no longer be allowed to exist.
In addition, Wilson is no stranger to civil rights violations. Video has recently surfaced showing Wilson arresting a man simply for recording him, which was the man’s right under the law — but, apparently, none of Wilson’s spotty history or the facts of the case had any bearing on the outcome.
Where do we go from here? Only time will tell, but justice is dead in Ferguson.
