The organization that planned Sunday’s protest at the White House billed as the “Million Vets March” is upset at the ugly tone and racist comments that marked the event.
SOS, Special Operations Speak posted the following statement in an email prior to the rally to encourage folks to come to DC:
Barack Obama – who never wore a uniform in his life other than Islamic garb – has shut down our nation’s war memorials. And he has declared open war on our honored veterans!
So this is the group that felt the Tea Party folks were too over the top on Sunday.
The Million Vet March, which might be separate from SOS but has not condemned the above cited language together with SOS’s hate filled email, has posted the following on their website:
The political agenda put forth by a local organizer in Washington DC was not in alignment with our message. We feel disheartened that some would seek to hijack the narrative for political gain. The core principle is about all Americans honoring Veterans in a peaceful and apolitical manner.
We made the mistake of trying to partner with some Washington insiders that thwarted many of our genuine concerns for keeping this apolitical and grassroots. While we support many of those groups common causes for Veterans, we do not support the manner in which they go about it. We chose instead to not incite or create panic.
That would be you Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin and Mike Lee.
So the group with the hyperbolic and insulting rhetoric is allowed to dress down the folks with the hyperbolic and insulting protest chants.
Welcome to Wonderland via the Tea Party.
