It’s that time again! Black Friday came a day early this year, and shoppers responded in force! As we all know, things can get a bit heated when one is searching for parking on even the best of days, let alone the biggest shopping day of the year (which many companies have chosen to extend into workers’ family time).
At about 6:30 PM on Gray Thursday, two men entered into a dispute over parking at a Tazewell County, VA Walmart. Not much is known of the specifics, but Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department confirmed with AATTP that two men, 64 year-old Ronnie Sharp of Russell County and 35 year-old Christopher Jackson of Jewell ridge were arguing over a parking space. When officers arrived, they found Jackson with a severe knife wound.
According to police, the parking dispute escalated into threats with a rifle and eventually, with Sharp slicing Jackson’s arm to the bone with a knife. Police arrested Sharp at the scene and seized a Second Amendment Stick (Rifle) from him. He has been charged with malicious wounding and brandishing a firearm.
Jackson was treated at a local hospital before being taken to jail. He has been charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct.
Both men are out on a $5,000 bond.
