Bill Maher became the latest celebrity to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, in his own unique way.
“Hi, Bill Maher, ready to take the Ice Bucket Challenge to knock off ALS. Take this ALS!” Maher said in a Funny or Die video before pouring a bucket of water over himself.
“And having done so, I like to pass the challenge along now to Mr. Kirk Douglas! Yeah, alright, that’s right — not Kirk Douglas — Dick Cheney!” he said.
“But let’s be honest, folks, ALS is a bad disease, but there are diseases that kill more,” Maher added. “Malaria has killed more people than all the wars, famines and natural disasters in history. It demands an even greater response.”
“This is a gallon of gasoline. I’m going to pour it on my head, and I challenge other people to take the ‘set yourself on fire challenge’ to wipe out malaria in our lifetime.”
Maher then “lit” himself on “fire,” bursting into virtual flames. “Folks, awareness doesn’t raise itself. If you want to cure Malaria in your lifetime, take the ‘Douse Yourself in Gasoline Challenge, and challenge others to do it, too.”
“I challenge…Dick Cheney!”
Watch this hilarious video…and just be glad that no one really set themselves on fire. After all, who would be stupid enough to do that? Oh…that’s right…this guy.
