Bill Clinton sat down with David Gregory on Meet the Press to talk about, among other things, Benghazi. Gregory pointed out that Republicans are (repeatedly) attempting to blame Hillary for their pretend scandal.
Clinton seized upon the opportunity to blast Republicans’ hypocrisy over dead American diplomats. “When ten different instances occurred when President Bush was in office where American diplomatic personnel were killed around the world, how many outraged Republican members of Congress were there? Zero.”
Republicans have been beating the dead horse that is Benghazi, hoping–praying–that they can in some way use it to tarnish the President or, at minimum, Hillary Clinton’s foreseen Presidential run.
There were a dozen Benghazis that occurred under George W. Bush. Nearly seventy died in 12 embassy attacks during Bush’s eight years in office. However, the outrage machine seems to have been malfunctioning at that time.
