Don’t you hate it when Amurricins don’t talk Amurrika talk? Indeed, that’s probably about how the Native Americans felt the first time Europeans showed up to offer them blankets and beads, and convert them to Catholicism. That’s probably also the way the Pueblo Indians felt when, in 1680, they were the first Native American group to successfully revolt against the Spanish and kick them out.**
Yes, the Conservative reaction to Coca Cola’s Superbowl commercial “It’s Beautiful” has been pretty strong to say the least. Almost as strong as the internet’s reaction to Coke sponsoring the Olympics in Sochi, thus lending support by complicity to Russia’s now codified abuse of homosexuals’ rights. Coke, frankly, had to do something — and “It’s Beautiful” wasn’t a bad start.
The Conservative reaction to hearing FERRIN voices signing Coke’s version of “America the Beautiful” FERRIN-TALK was visceral to say the least. from our dear friends at The Everlasting GOP Stoppers:
But of all the truly great Conservative comments out there, perhaps the best and most sound-bitiest of them all came from from a blog comment from Florida Conservative Allen West:
“It started rather patriotically with the words of ‘America the Beautiful.’ Then the words went from English to languages I didn’t even recognize.”
Now, of course, as certain great Americans have pointed out, nobody who served in Florida and Iraq could possibly be expected to recognize Spanish and Arabic. So, clearly, Mr. West was confused by some other, thoroughly FERRIN language. Something so horribly Un-American that it literally ruined the meaning of a song celebrating the beauty and unity of America, and the blending of cultures that made it great. And what WAS that foul language?
It was “Keres,” a Pueblo Native American language. Christy, who sang the song in her people’s language, having gotten a translation from the tribe’s elders, said “I’m representing America, I’m representing my home. It just feels like I’m doing a good thing.”
** Except of course for the Acuera of Central Florida, who didn’t need to revolt because they kicked De Soto’s ass right the first time. Shame they’re not around to do the same with Allen West, Rick Scott and Marco Rubio.
