Fox Host and general airhead Elisabeth Hasselbeck suggested on Wednesday that President Barack Obama’s strategy against ISIS was “himself,” since he promised to use his “understanding” of Muslims to prevent crimes like beheadings.
While sitting with the boys over on Paste Eating Time With Steve Doocy and Brian Killmeade, Hasselbeck made note that neither the White House nor State Department said that the United States was “at war” with ISIS after the a video showing the beheading of a second journalist emerged:
I mean, why isn’t it clear? We have a number of troops assigned to hold down and secure our forces there in Baghdad. We have air strikes occurring right now. We’ve got confusing language when it seems like war.
She went on to add that “we have two American journalists beheaded” and that she wasn’t “sure what more cause for war we need.” She wondered why he was “so afraid to call a spade a spade?”
Killmeade, reminding everyone who cuts the paychecks over at FOX, complained that Obama was “screaming about minimum wage and fair pay,” instead of warning Americans about terrorists that are lurking around every corner, just like the Communists, threatening to kill us, steal our gas guzzling hummers, and slaughter bald eagles.
Hasselbeck remarked that “You look back to 2007 and the president alluded to the fact that he thought it would change the world once he was inaugurated, that he would be able to understand Muslims. And, therefore, crimes like this would not occur, and the world would be safer because he had understanding.”
She then insisted that “years later” it didn’t “seem to be working.” She added that “his strategy seemed to be himself. Not a good one.”
I’m not even sure what that statement is supposed to mean. Sometimes I wonder if Fox gets so caught up speaking in dog whistle code to their right-wing viewers they forget that the rest of us don’t speak that language and end up making themselves look even more like morons on national TV.
