The heat in the war between the Ku Klux Klan and Anonymous just got turned up another notch. Ever since the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (TAKKKK) threatened to use “lethal force” against peaceful African-American protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, the hacktivist collective has been decimating the KKK.
From taking down Klan web sites, to “de-hooding” members, to taking control of the Klan’s official Twitter presence, Anonymous has been providing the world with a bit of righteous Schadenfreude as it watches the hate group squirm. And the are squirming!
After it became public knowledge that numerous KKK members attend the “not-racist” gatherings in support of Officer Darren Wilson, who set off months of protests after he gunned down an unarmed African-American teen in the street, Wilson supporters innocently removed a photo highlighting TAKKKK Imperial Wizard Frank Ancona and two other members cheering for the officer. Hate groups are also warning members not to reveal their associations on social media.
After further threats from Ancona and crew to shoot anyone associated with Anonymous in a Dick Cheney-style hunting “accident,” Anonymous further cemented their message.
The response? Anonymous says that they will begin revealing phone numbers and, presumably, more personal information belonging to Klan members if they show up to the protests.
