Anonymous has opened up a second front in their War on Terrorists. What began with the KKK has now expanded its focus to include the Islamic State. Specifically, the “hacktivist” group has been successful in their bid to take down over 100 Twitter and Facebook accounts used by ISIS for recruitment purposes.
According to a video released by the group, “Muslims, Christians, and Jews” all coordinated the attacks, working together to “hunt” ISIS. This is just the latest in a string of assaults executed against the terror group that started after the attacks on the offices of Charlie Hebdo in Paris.
The video makes note that the attackers are a motley collective of “hackers, crackers, hacktivists, phishers, agents, spies, or just the guy next door. Students, administrators, workers, clerks, unemployed, rich, poor. Young, or old, gay or straight. from all races, countries, religions, and ethnicity. United as one, divided by zero.”
They added that there was “no safe place” for ISIS online, and that Anonymous was going to “take down [their] sites, accounts, emails” and treat them “like a virus,” for which Anonymous is the cure.
