Ann Coulter is at it again. This time not only attacking the President while pretending to be reasonable but insulting the mentally challenged at the same time by referring to pot as a “legal retard pill.”
She made her latest outrageous comments in a phone interview with Howie Carr on his radio show on Monday, starting out by giggling at his “compliment” on her ability to write an entire column about Chris Christie “in that kind of mean spirit.” Obviously Annie is proud of the fact that she is vicious in her ad hominem attacks.
Later she perpetuated the lie that Obamacare is going to cause the loss of 2.5 million jobs — long after it had been thoroughly debunked over and over again, Clearly, Coulter has no use for facts that do not support her position.
After spending nearly 15 minutes telling us what a lousy president Obama has been, she goes into what she imagines to be a defense of his citizenship.
“I know we’ve spent seven years trying to persuade right-wingers, no, he really was born in Hawaii, we have his birth certificate, stop with the crazy conspiracy theories,” she said. “But, let’s just think for a thought experiment for a moment: if Obama were born in another country, had no love for this country, and had set out to destroy America, what would he be doing differently?”
Of course she has brought the subject up before but always in stealth mode with statements passed off as a joke, such as when she told Sean Hannity in 2012, “I have an unnamed source in Kenya who says Obama was born in Kenya.”
As recently as this past November, in defense of Raphael Cruz she said, ““I think it’s a joke, we’ll dispute that, let me move on. Um, you know who brought up the birther thing? … It was Hillary Clinton who first brought up ‘Was he born in Kenya?’”
Of course that is a flat out lie since Hillary has never questioned the President’s citizenship.
From that she went into the unlikely segue, “And now let’s get them smoking pot,” she said. “That’ll be a boon to the economy.”
Carr happily chimed in on that subject, claiming that it has been “proven” that pot smoking lowers ones IQ by 8 points. This of course takes the studies that he is referring to out of context and generalizes on a narrowly focused study.
There has been a study in New Zealand which focused on the effects of regular pot use in teens and did find that those who regularly smoked pot in their teen years appear to have reduced IQ scores in their late thirties. The study did not look at adults, and the states which have legalized pot have not done so for teens, since one must be an adult in order to legally purchase and use it.
Coulter was quick to jump on that bandwagon however with another display of wit.
“And a hundred points off your initiative and ambition,” Coulter replied. “It is as if they have legalized retard pills. You’ll have a kick, but you won’t be able to accomplish anything in your life, including delivering a newspaper.”
