On Sean Hannity’s show Monday night he and Ann Coulter, true to form, took turns bashing Melissa Harris-Perry for her segment in which she and her panel joked that a photo of Mitt Romney’s family, in which his adopted grandson Kieran is seated on his knee, looks a lot like the “diversity” in the Republican party.
The panel never made a joke at the expense of the child, only aiming their barbs at Mitt and the Republican party, and after the right began screaming for blood over the “insensitive” comments, Harris-Perry issued an apology, which was not enough for Hannity and Coulter.
Although no one on the panel made any comment suggesting that the child is a “token” Coulter sarcastically remarked that she was surprised that Harris-Perry would suggest that saying, “what does she think she is at MSNBC?”
In their game of good commentator, bad commentator, it was apparently Hannity’s turn to be the “good” commentator as he pointed out to her that MSNBC does have other black faces, he mentioned Al Sharpton before going on to agree with her that the network is filled with “lunatics” who love to listen to their own hyperbole.
Coulter observed that it was odd that MSNBC would embrace racism in this way after spending so much time attempting to paint the Republicans as racist. “Unfortunately for liberals,” she said, “there is no more racism in America. There is more cholera in America than there is racism.”
She asserts as if she had inside knowledge that the whole thing was pre-planned and scripted and that MSNBC and Harris-Perry apologized only to save face and in the case of Harris-Perry to save her job. “This wasn’t a slip of the tongue,” she said.
