What is it with conservatives and thinking that it’s always Satan “attacking” them when they do or say something horrific? At the hillbilly circle-jerk that is the Values Voter Summit, Duck Dynasty Klansman Alan Robertson, who defended his father’s suggestion that men marry 15 and 16-year-old girls earlier this year, proudly stood up and declared that “the Evil One” wants to “derail” his dad’s message about a “return to godliness” — which apparently includes anti-Muslim hate speech, an ignorant belief that black people had it just spiffy under Jim Crow, and numerous disgusting remarks about the LGBT community.
Robertson was adamant that Satan is not going to derail he and his totally not-bigoted, bearded crew from “what is right.”
“We’re talking about undergoing that change and trying to help other people see that because now you realize we’ve got generations of people in our nation that really don’t understand godliness at any level, they don’t know,” he said.
Later, he said he prayed for Americans who haven’t yet succumbed to his crazy cult’s warped version of Christianity. “I pray for even our American brothers and sisters who aren’t there yet, I pray for them, because I want our nation to rise up and be great again.”
