God apparently supports a lot of stupid things: Michelle Bachmann as president, Obama’s impeachment, invasions of Iraq — if you didn’t know any better, you’d think the guy was out to get us killed. Here’s more proof that God hates humanity: EPA legislation regarding coal-fired plants are, according to State officials in Alabama, violating God’s laws.
The commissioner-elect of the state’s Public Service Commission, Chip Beeker, said that the coal was created in Alabama by God, so federal regulations limiting its use were an insult to God. I’d love to see him point that verse out in the Bible.
According to Al.com, the state officials believe it’s an insult to their thin-skinned God:
“We will not stand for what they are doing to our way of life in Alabama,” said PSC President Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh. “We will take our fight to the EPA.”
“Who has the right to take what God’s given a state?” [Chip Beeker] said.
Cavanaugh called on the people of the state to ask for God’s intervention.
“I hope all the citizens of Alabama will be in prayer that the right thing will be done,” she said.
Twinkle and several other GOP officials from Alabama will be at an EPA hearing in Atlanta on Tuesday, presumably praying really, really hard.
