As a response to Barack Obama’s November 20 speech on immigration reform, Michele Bachmann took to the airwaves of Fox News, calling on her Tea Party army to descend on Washington D.C. for a record-breaking rally.
But according to a report from Mother Jones, when the Tea Party got the memo, they decided that it wasn’t “a good use of its resources.”
With the tea party not heeding Bachmann’s call, her “high noon” rally was downgraded to…a press conference. So on Wednesday, Bachmann appeared on the Capitol steps—joined by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa)—and spoke to a passel of cameras and about 40 protesters. Here’s a picture of the crowd:
Bachmann’s people didn’t respond to a request for a comment on the dismal response.
