After running a story about the viral video of a Cambridge, Massachusetts resident who went off on a “reporter” for Alex Jones’ conspiracy theory radio show and website, Infowars, yesterday we had a chance to talk to the man behind the video, Roger Nicholson. Nicholson was enraged at Jones and his crew, including the reporter Dan Bidondi, for spreading disinformation, claiming the Boston bombing was a “false flag” operation perpetrated by the FBI and other facets of the U.S. government. According to Nicholson, he’s been contacted by Infowars for an interview.
Ever since the video was posted, Nicholson has received threats of bodily injury and even death from outraged Jones’ fans and others who he offended during his over four minute long rant.
Here’s what Nicholson had to say about the recent confrontation.
AATTP: Can you explain how this all went down–why were you so angry with Mr. Bidondi?
Nicholson: My dear friend Tracy was standing about 20 feet away when the second bomb [at the Boston Marathon] went off. She started to run away when she saw a little girl laying on the ground. Her leg had been blown off and her little brother, Martin, was already dead.
This is someone I know and love and not some “crisis actor” like Alex Jones and his flock like to imply. So when I saw one of his stooges in my neighborhood exploiting the victims and those who were affected by this tragedy and trying to pass himself off as a real reporter, my f**king blood started to boil. That’s why I was so angry.
AATTP: Do you think the approach you used was effective?
Nicholson: This Alex Jones rep had been hijacking the news conferences all week and was feeling pretty good about himself. I felt he needed to get knocked down a peg or two. What mattered at the time wasn’t whether or not people agreed with my approach or whether I was right or wrong, but was to let everyone know that this guy and the f**kstain whose water he carries, are f**king a**holes and traitors to the United States. Alex Jones and his Info Wars bulls**t is to journalism what Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church are to religion
AATTP: Is there anything you regret about the exchange?
Nicholson: I probably should have been afraid, but really wasn’t. I was pretty amped up on self-righteous anger which is probably more powerful than Angel Dust. If I ran into him again I might be–he’s a pro wrestler MMA fighter or something–so I’m pretty sure he’d beat the piss out of me.
AATTP: How do you feel about the threats you’ve been receiving? Are you scared?
Nicholson: I’m not really scared. If some s**tbird from East Bumf**k Mississippi wants to get in their rust bucket and drive up here to Cambridge to seek me out because I think their cult leader is a bloated paranoid schizophrenic Hitlarian leaking anus, then bring it on. Besides, I’ve got more things to worry about, like how many more these Kill For Allah sons of b**ches live in my neighborhood.
